Am I pregnant?

I promised to update you about the adventure of Monkey, but then we had a major storm then lost power, we've been trapped in our home for 14 days!. Then on top of that its been 6 days without internet!!
We had internet last night for a little while then it went away. Not sure how long will have it today...but going to try to post the story.

So way back on December 2, Monkey went into heat. I was anticipating this with great eagerness as I had picked out a lovely siamese male for her to breed with...aka George. However, due to George's size he was unable to satisfy Monkey and indeed it was almost comical to watch him try and fall off. He was just too fat! Poor guy! He really wanted to help make kittens but it wasn't happening.

Monkey put up with this for 24 hours, but wasn't amused at the end. She decided to take matters into her own paws and escaped out the front door! She didn't stick around and took off for who knows where. I was frantic!
I called and called, and she wouldn't answer. I went through the woods and the neighborhood calling every day and night. No sighting of her!

Finally about 8 days later I saw her as Grandma and I were coming home from the store. My arms were full of packages and also helping Grandma get into the house. She can't take that step without having me right there to help her, or else she will fall. So, I threw all the packages in the house and hurriedly helped gran get indoors. Then I turned around to run over and get Monkey. But the evil neighbor's dog had her cornered!!!! As I got within a few more feet of her the dog barked and started chasing her. I took off after them around one house and behind another. By the time I caught up...she was gone again.

I checked to make sure Grandma was sitting comfortably inside the house and not in danger, then I went all around the woods and neighborhood calling and calling.
Finally talked to a neighbor who said she had seen Monkey in her garage a few times with a large fluffy grey male. I left some food with her because when I had seen Monkey it was obvious she had lost weight.

A few more days pass and the worse winter storm we have had in my lifetime is predicted. I open up the garage door a crack so all my outdoor kittys can come in out of the weather and have a safe dry place to spend their nights and days. I put their food and water in there with them.

Then 11 days after she escaped, I go out to the garage for my morning smoke and outdoor kitty cuddle and there she is!!!!!! All my other kitties were ok with her being in there too!! She was soooooo happy to see me! She started meowing and purring the minute I picked her up!!

I was so incredibly relieved to have her home again. I've only had 1 other kitty who wandered off and returned safely, but I have lost some who find new homes or who are sadly eaten by the coyotes (I think). I actually found fur one time, but no kitty the first week I had moved to this place. My cats had always been indoor/outdoor cats with no issues at my old home, but I learned quickly here that the wilderness is only a heartbeat away. I have 4 outdoor cats now that are incredibly clever and never have an issue with the wild critters, but the indoor ones don't have the skills or the know how usually to survive out there...if they would only accept that I have their best interests in mind and I'm not trying to be mean when I say they can NOT go outside. :(

So to top it all off, Monkey's "pink-up" date was around Christmas and I think she might have pinked up. She has put alot of weight back on since she got home. Some of that is because she was so slender when she got back...but I think some of it is due to kittens! There is no way to tell what kind we will have, but I will cherish them no matter what they look like. Monkey has such a lovely personality to pass on to the them, that I am sure I will love them all. The thing about her though is that when I adopted her they had thought she was pregnant, but it turned out she was just fat....so we will really have to watch her over the next few weeks and see what we see!

This is just a short movie of my dog Gunner enjoying the snow. I will do an update about Monkey and her potential babies in the next few days. I will tell you all about her adventure too.

Looks like youtube is taking a while to update, so the movie will be up later in the day.

Monkey has a boyfriend!!

Monkey, the charcoal point kitty has a boyfriend, George, the fire point fluffy monster! George is a year old male who recently imigrated to our home. He has resided under my bed for a week and has finally started coming out to say hi. He enjoys being petted, but it is entirely on his terms! He wants to come up to you, do not approach him quickly or he will scatter like the leaves in the wind.
George almost got a different name though, cause he loves to eat butter! I caught him trying to take a stick of butter off the counter. I assume he was intending to bring it back under the bed where he could eat it in leisure, but I caught him in the act...whew!!!! I was thinking butter or butterball would be a good name for the fluffmeister...lol.
I hope to start blogging again, especially as we MAY have kittens come febuary. I will definetly let you all know as soon as I know for sure and will do daily or weekly photos ect, if that should happen.

Introducing Keera

Author: Momma

I know, I know, I told you I would blog once a week...and here it is forever and a day later! lol. I thought I would update you all a little bit.

Napoleon still hasn't come home. Gunner went to the vet and got nuetered, he was not amused! I have recently adopted a new kitten, after much thought I finally settled on the name Keera. She is a tuxie kitty with what appears to be long hair. We'll have to see as it grows out and she grows up wether it stays long or not. Napoleon when he was a kitten looked like he would have fluffier fur, but he ended up short hair.

Oh, a little about Keera... she was from a rescue. I guess the people who had her before didn't take care of their cats and finally gave up and took them to someone who would care for them and get them good homes. Keera had most of her whiskers cut. I'm sure they will grow out again, the few she has that weren't cut are incredibly long. She is also very very skinny. She had tapeworms and was untreated until just recently. Poor baby! When you hold her you can feel every bone in her body. But when you hold her she begins to purr. She sounds like a motorboat. She loves to cuddle and be held and she is vocal if she can't find you. I've only had her for a few days and she is already use to Gunner and Raowr.

Raowr was not happy at first about Keera, but within 24 hours has started wanting to play with her. Of course Keera is about 1/3 the size of Raowr so she is a little intimidated by her...but they curl up together to sleep now in grandma's lap.

In a few days I'll be adopting another cat from the rescue place. I saw this siamese mix there and they said she was pregnant, I was interested in adopting one of her babies...but then when I started thinking about it..the babies always get adopted easy, its the moms that have a hard time finding a good home. On the plus side, it turns out she isn't pregnant..just fat! So once she is done being in heat, I'll be bringing her home.

The siamese is named Luna, but I probably won't keep that name...I'll watch her and play with her and see what name jumps out at me based on her personality. In case your wondering, Keera means darkness or black...and its a pretty sounding name. :)

Raowr and Gunner relaxing together

Author: Momma

After the loss of Napoleon I haven't really wanted to blog. Its been hard. Grandma is suffering more and more from the Alzheimers and its a daily struggle to cope.
I am thinking of easing back into blogging with the furry ones, but it will most likely only be once a week to start with and then we'll see how it goes from there.

Anyway, as you can tell Gunner and Raowr are fast becoming good buddies. Its hilarious to see them playing since he is a 100 times bigger then her! Oh, I almost forgot...Gunner is getting nuetered on the 10th, getting his rabies shot, and getting his brand new license! Poor guy, doesn't know whats about to happen...lol.

I'm working with Gunner to get him some basic obedience training. So far we have about a 60-40 success rate with the sit command. I have had about 90% success with the stay command. He has no idea what I mean when I tell him to LAY. Any good ideas how to teach him. He does seem to want to learn, but he's a little shy on the brains department sometimes.

Beloved Stormy

Stormy was helped to the rainbow bridge today, she had a brave struggle with cancer and survived for longer then many others. She will be sadly missed by all.

This is a picture of the neighbor's puppy!

This is Sandy, the puppy we puppysat the other day. Poor Gunner was very upset when the puppy had to go back home! When we later walked past the neighbor's house, Sandy was in the window and freaked out when she saw Gunner. She wanted to play with him some more and he wanted to play too. My friend thinks I should get Gunner his own puppypal, but I think my plates full enough with 5 cats, a dog, and grandma to take care of!!

I puppysat today!

Gunner really loved having the puppy over today! It was soooo cute!

I just wanted to write a quick entry to let everyone know why we haven't been updating more.
About a week ago Grandma fell and broke her ankle. She then stayed at my mom's house while we waited and waited for the swelling to go down. Finally the doctor decided that due to her age, they wouldn't risk surgery and would just try to align the bone as best they could and then put a cast on it. She's back home now.

There has been some talk about putting Grandma in a nursing facility for 3 weeks while we wait for the bone to heal enough for her to be able to walk a little safely. Right now due to her alzheimers she forgets that she has a broken bone and shouldn't be walking on it. Several times I've woken up in the middle of the night to find her up and walking to the bathroom. She can't remember that she isn't suppose to do this. There will be a home nurse person coming out sometime this week, and then we will decide what is best for grandma. I had hoped she would stay here and not need to go to a facility, but I am unable to be awake 24hrs a day to prevent her from walking on that broken ankle. Its not something I want to have happen, but on the other hand, if its necessary for her to be in a safe enviroment...then that is what is best in the long run.

On the pet home front, Gunner is settling in and starting to be naughty at times. This morning I woke up to find he had gotten my brand new shoes and chewed off one of the shoelaces. I think its in retaliating to him no longer being allowed to sleep in my room. See, I have the kitty boxes in my bedroom and someone here is a disgusting doggie and decided to repeatedly "investigate" the contents of the boxes.
ewww! So, he can't go in the bedroom anymore and I think he gets restless being alone during the night. I'm thinking he might have to get a bed in the garage if he continues to destroy things when I'm sleeping. For now I've put my shoes in the closet instead of next to the door.

Gunner and I playing indoor fetch!

I went to the groomer today and is sooo purty now!!

I still feel like sticking my tongue out about the whole thing!

Well it was a horrible thing. First mum took me and shoved me in the car! I hates car rides! I gotted sick the last time, so I remember that in the back of my mind. This time, I wasn't in the car long enough to get sicks. It was only a few blocks. Then mum dumped me in this place wif all these peoples. They put waters on my fur! They scrubbed all my beloved stinkyness out of my furs! Oh the horrible indignity of it all.
Then they trimmed my long long claws. Now my feet furs are all trimmed and I have dainty looking feets! I is suppose to be a big manly furball, not a dainty furball...sighs. Well mum has been coooing and awwwing over me and she did give me treats. So I guessing it all works out in the long run. However, I now know to doubly avoid the car. Eiver you get sicks or you get the scubbings away of the good doggie stinkyness!

Well, your an awfully small woofy!

Author: Zeke, aka Gunner

My new mum says she wants to change my name to Gunner. She thinks that goes with my personality and is a longer and softer sounding word. I'll answer to most anything...if there be a treat involved!

Sadly mum is still very worried and searching all the time for my missing little brother Napoleon. I actually hasn't met him yet, but iffen I do, I know I love him like I love all the weird little 'woofies' that live here.

On that note, I has to say these is the strangest woofies I has ever met! They don't woof, they growls and hisses and they has sharper claws them me. So far they don't want to play with me which is really sad causen I love to play! I use to have two other siblings with my other family and they would run and play with me all day. I miss them and my other family a whole bunch. I'm starting to get use to the schedule here, but none of the woofies in the neighborhood wants to play with me neither. Not alot of people around here actually take their woofies for walks! My new mum takes me out in the morning and again in the evening. I love going on walks. My other family wasn't physically able to take me on walks no more, so I really missed that!

My new mum wants to thank everyone for all their prayers, purrs, and good thoughts about the return of Napoleon. Its very hard for her, specially since she had just gotten Raowr back after her being missing. Mum thinks that someone for sure is kittynapping peoples' pets and dumping them in different locations. Thats why she got microchips now. Now if anybody escapes the house and someone steals them, well whoever is nice and finds them will be able to return them back to the right Mum!

Post-op Tummy photo

Author: Raowr

As promised here is a photo of my tumtum. Belle is still being stubborn and refuses to allow photos to be takens. Do you see the green on my tummy? This is cause there is a special tattoo there! This was, if someone takes me for a stray and decides to get me spayed (again) the vet would shave my tummy and would see the tattoo and know thats I has already been spayed!! Cool, then they wouldn't has to cut me open. Course I did get the microchip, so no one should thinks I is stray iffen I ever escaped the house agin. On that topic, momma is kinda irked at the vet peoples. They said it would be 36 dollars to get the microchip. They failed to mentions that in addition to that money, Momma has to pay another 19 dollars to register the chip with the national company. Otherwise, there isn't any point in having the chip. So instead of saying it is 36, they should say...we charge 36 to install the chip, but then you must register and pay another 19 dollar fee...so its really 55 dollars all togethers. That would be more honest.
How many of you all has chips? And how much did it costed? Did you has to pay a seperate fee and fill out paperwork and send it somewhere to get it all registered and whatnot? Lets us know..k?

Uh oh, whats going on here????

Arriving at the vets!

I don't want to come out!!!

Authors: Belle and Raowr

Um, we didn't get any late night snacks last night. And then today, instead of breakfast we are cruelly shoved into the Prisoner Transport Unit(PTU)! In the first picture we are both being taken in the car. Belle hasn't ever been in one before but I, Raowr, has been in thems before. Neither of us been to the vet though! We is overdoo for the ladygardenectomy!

Well, I (Belle)for one am very glad to not have to worry about any more kittens! I really was too young to have babies and I had no idea how to take care of them properly. Course, I was not amused by the decidedly empty food bowls this morning!!
I also found out I have to have a rabies shot since I spend so much time outdoors.

I found out causen I was a bad little kitteh that I has to have a microchip. I even founded out that they isn't good yummy chips, they isn't edabiles! I totally didn't mean to wander soooo far away, I promise and I won't do its no more...cants Belle has the chip instead?

(The Momma here, I'll post pics after they get home, specially of their shaved bellys, hehehe!)

I am pleased to announce the newest addition to our family!!

Author: Momma

This is our newest family member. His name is Zeke, at least for now. His former owner wasn't able to give him the care and attention he so rightly deserves, so she finally made the difficult choice to put him up for adoption. She wanted him to have a great life and all the love in the world.

Zeke is a slightly merle colored Sheltand Sheepdog. He is purebred, however his breeder wasn't able to show him because he was unusually large (for a sheltie), he had one blue eye, and he didn't have the full merle coat. So the breeder had sold him as a pet dog, and his owner had him for a year before deciding that due to illness they couldn't keep him anymore.

I am still desperately looking for Napoleon, which is how I found out about Zeke. I search the ads everyday without success, but I saw a posting about Zeke. I have always wanted a sheltie dog, but did not want a puppy. So this works great for me and for grandma. This dog is already past the chewing and housebreaking phaze, and loves to be petted and brushed. Two of my favorite activities! Zeke hasn't had any formal obedience training, so coming up in June we are gonna get signed up and get cracking!

The cats are horribly mad at me for bringing a woofie into the house, but I'm sure they will get over it. The great thing is that Shelties are mellow by nature so he has little interest in them and is not inclined to chase them! So its them having to get over him, rather then a two way battle.

Family snuggle time!(an old photo)

Author: Momma

We are having a serious issue here in our neighborhood of cats disappearing. Napoleon is the latest victim. But after my 10 days of waiting and waiting for Raowr, I do have some hope that he too can come home. I'm starting to think that someone around here is picking up people's pets and dumping them miles away from home. I don't know who would do this for sure, but I have my suspicions.

Momma just had to take a new pictures of me. (if you bigiffiy it you might see me droolings) She is sooo glad i is staying home now. Though I has made a few breaks for the front door...I hasn't made it yet, sighs!

I don't has alot to write. Something about a ladygardenectomy in May for me and Belle and something about somone getting a mini-itty-bitty-chip. I love chips!!! wait? I don't get to eat it? then why do I has to have a chip?????? Oh cause of the whole need to conquer the great outdoors and go far far away from mum on adventures...sigh again!! the things I put up wif causen I love my mum.

My favorite spot in the house

Author: Raowr, the wanderer

Yups, I is glad to be homes. I get to sit on the vent and make momma turn on the heat for me. I gets all toasty and my furs stay warm for hours.
I bets you is all wondering how I got soooo far away from home in just a few days time? Well, Momma thinks I got in someone's car accidently or in the back of a truck and then jumped out when they stopped. Its oviouse from the boo boo's on my wittle paws that I has walked alots. But there's just no saying what all I did on my adventurs.
I will tell you abouts the lady who rescued me and posted me on the intratnety so my momma could come gets me. This lady is named Christine. She and her hubby wents to this little mexican restuaranty called "Lupe's Escape". Its just about 5 minutes from where they live. Anyway, while they were there they saws me wandering around the outdoor patio. It had been a few days since I had run aways, so I was espicially hungry! I can't belive no one out here in the big world knows that i likes my Whiska's wet food in a pouch and it has to be fishy flavors. I was lucky to gets a bite from someones stale leftover burger next door at the mcdonalds. I went over to the other resturuanty and was hoping somone would take pitty on mes. They did! The owner of the resuruanty couldn't keep me but Christine said she would take me and help me find my mum. She took me home where she had 3 kittys and great big friendly woofy. I was a verry good girl and didn't hiss at no body and even let the big woofy sniff me lots. Christine feds me, even if she didn't has no Whiskas seafood pouches...at least it was good proper kitty food! Christine wanted me to find my mum so she posted on Craigslist. There are probably 30 postings a day on there for people who have found pets or losted them...so its no wonder that my mum somehow missed the posting for two whole days! And Christine didn't find the original posting my momma had made neither. But luck was wif me and Momma was ables to find my postings on craiglist.

I really enjoyed my time wif Christine (my guardian angel) but I was super glad that momma came and brought me home so I can sleep on my heater vents. Christine and her hubby was getting attached to me, cause I is so super mellow and sweet...so I know I would have had a good home wif them, but I is glad that Momma doesn't has to cry about me no more. :)

Remeber me? -Old Photo-

Author: Momma

I haven't wanted to blog because in addition to the loss of all the babys, I also lost Raowr. Grandma can't remember that the indoor cats are suppose to be indoor. There are many in the neighborhood and occasionally the two boys (Hunter and Napoleon) would go outside. SO anyway, Grandma can't remember who goes and who stays and she accidently let Raowr outside.

Raowr disappeared around the 5th. I went out and looked and looked and called her name for days. I went into the woods, posted on craigslist and told everyone I knew in town to be on the look out for my lost baby. Here is a link to my ad on craigslist My lost Ad

Anyway, I have been checking faithfully everyday on craigslist and in the neighborhood. No luck. Then somehow I had missed seeing this ad on craigslist Other Ad on Craigslist So it says they found her in Aloha which is about 1 hour and 45 minutes drive from here!!! In just 3 days she went like 80 miles through the back woods and whatnot to get there?? It doesn't matter how she got there, but I've been frantically trying all day to get ahold of this woman Christine...but so far no luck. I'm praying that she hasn't given up on finding the owner (me) and praying she hasn't taken Raowr to the humane shelter. Or if she did, I hope she will call or email me so I can go and get her.

Anyhow, there is a real good chance now that I will get my sweety back alive and well! Hopefully Christine will call first thing in the morning. I'll let you all know and take many many photos of Raowr as soon as she is back safe and sound at home!!!!!

UPDATE:

RAOWR IS SAFELY HOME!!!! YEAH!!!! WHOOO HOOO!!!!!
She has some booboo's on her feet from all the walkings she did...but otherwise she is in good health and good spirits.

April 4, 2008

Bad news.I only have a minute here to update. we need prayers again. Belle has bitten the baby in the neck. I don't know if he can be saved, but we are off to the vet this morning. Belle keeps trying to get to the kitten and trying to carry him off, but obviously I can't let her. I have to go now. Will update later this day.

* Update *

MiniBoy in his new bed

Went to the vet, they say the bite is superficial and since he is so small they can't do anything for it. They said to give him Antibotics twice a day, and to keep him warm. Since MommaBelle is too exessive when it comes to moving him around, I'm keeping the little miniboy with me. During the day I will hunt down Belle and supervise little miniboy's feeding times and hopefully we won't have to switch to me handrearing him. In order to keep him snug and warm, I have him in an old tuperware type container with a washcloth on the bottom and a washcloth on top of him, with his head out so he can breath. He was in my pocket but anytime I would bend over or move differently it would make him squirm till he about fell out of the pocket. So I've now got a lucky miracle mini tupperware boy.

*Updated again*

I don't know why, but the little boy kitten has passed on. It could have been from the bite wound, though the vet seemed to think it wasn't very serious. It could have been from an underlying genetic problem. I will never know. But I want to take this time to thank everyone who has been so kind and supportive during this difficult time.

I also want to take this as a horrible life lesson and example and hold it up to all those who think about letting their kitty have just one litter before being spayed. True you might have a wonderful experience or you could have a tragic and expensive lesson. The responsible thing to do is to get your cat or dog spayed/neutered at or before 6 months of age. And if you wait too long, you'll end up with a litter. I wish that I could have had these kittens live a good long life and have great forever families, instead they got called back to heaven a little early.

I'm going to take a few days off from blogging. I'll probably have one of the cats blog again on wednesday. Thank you again to all who sent such nice thoughts and prayers.

Meet Miracle Boy!!!

Author: Momma

It was a very emotional day yesterday so I didn't get a chance to update the good news! After about 6 hours from the death of the two kittens, Belle decided to have one more kitten!! And this one seems to be doing well. He's all black with a tiny little bit of maybe 4 white hairs on the tip of his tail. He's about 24 hours old and has a very very loud voice! He lets Belle know when he's hungry and when he's cold.
Belle still insisted on trying to bring the kitten into the litterbox and I just didn't think it was a very sanitary or good place to nurse him. So I took him out of the litterbox and in with some towels. Belle instantly went and got him and put him back in the litterbox! So I took the lid off the litterbox, and put it on top of the towels. That seems to be what she wanted. She wanted a roof over her and the baby!

I am concerned though as its been 24 hours since the birth of her last baby and she still has some discharge. I don't remember this with the other momma cats I've fostered. Should I take her into the vet? She doesn't seem to be in any physical discomfort, but its still gross and not very hygenic I would think.

With Belle being so super pregnant for the last week I have been locking the two girl kitties in my bedroom with me at night. Just incase Belle goes into labour in the middle of the night, I don't want her to be hiding under the sofa or somewhere that I can't get to her.
So sure enough, at 3:30 this morning, I woke from a troubled sleep to realize that something disgusting had just brushed against my foot. I tore off the covers and there was Belle giving birth in my bed!!!! So I jumped up and quickly carried her to her birthing box in the bathroom. She strained and meowed and freaked out when I tried to leave, so I stay with her. The first baby was an all black one, but despite my best efforts he didn't make it. He never took his first breath and Belle had no interest in him right from the start. Soon after there was another baby born, and it was moving and rearing to go. Its a black or gray one with white on it. The next one born was a white/creamy/orangey? little loud one.

Belle was not happy with the birthing box at all, and attempted to climb into the litterbox repeatedly. I finally had to take the lid off of it and flip it upside down. So, of course, both kittens and Belle are covered in icky litter. I told you all the miracle of life is disgusting! lol

Belle has finally calmed down enough for me to leave the room and update on here. She's still in labor and I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with 4 living kittens. I'll let you know later in the day, since I'm going to be in the middle of cleaning my bed and the labor room for the next few hours.

Update: 5:50am
Well, I guess it turns out that Belle was just very very fat and not so super pregnant. As its been 2 hours since her 3rd kitten was born, I think its pretty much over. The first live kitten is defintly grey with little white markings, and the other one is kind of an orangy white. The orangey one isn't doing so well, I'm worried that we might end up with only one that makes it through the day. Purrs and prayers for momma Belle and the babies.

Update 850am

Orangey one didn't make it. I am having strong doubts that Belle is a suitable momma kitty. I don't know if it was just poor genetics and thats why all her babies are died or dying. Or if its because Belle isn't taking care of them. She hasn't seemed to bond with any of the kittens and leaves them as soon as the door opens. She doesn't cuddle with the last baby either, and she seems much more interested in leaving the room rather then caring for the baby. I'm very surprised since Belle has always been excessivly motherly to all the other cats in the house. I'm exhausted and sadden, so I might not blog for another few days. If the grey and white one makes it I will take photos and I will blog about it.

Update 10:50am

After checking in on Belle I was unable to locate the last remaining kitten. This is the one that had seemed the strongest right from birth. However, Belle had buried the baby in the litterbox. I don't know why she did that. Its really hard to anxiously wait weeks for new life to come and then to have it go so tragically wrong in such a short period of time. I don't know if there was something wrong with these kittens genetically that caused Belle to reject them. I'm hurting a bit now, so I'll blog in a few days.

Here I was a plannings on being a good uncle kitteh, but geesh thems some ugly alien hatchlings my sista Belle had today! Wowies thems needs some kinda of special lovings, cause not even Belle will go nears the big pink one. I really is interested in her telling us all how that set of twin aliens happened? She keeps insistings it was a normal run of the mill tomcat, but we has photographic proofs now that this was some weird alien hibreed or somefing!!

naaaahhh...its just APRIL FOOLS!!! we still has no kittens as of 10pm april 1st. Momma is getting frustrated and poor Belle is really funny to watch when she twys to groom herself..hehehe. Its so funny cause she ends up rolling to the side instead and then she gets this funny look on her face and pretends taht she meanted to do that.

Everyday in this so called "Spring"....

Author: Momma

Its snowed each morning for the last 4 days...its really weird!

No kittens yet, poor belle is very big and the babies are really active. If I put my hand on her belly, I can feel their little heads and sometimes their little paws moving around. Its one of the weirdest things ever!!

More snow in March!

And a pregnancy update video

Author: Momma

Well, here it is thursday and no babies! Sigh!! Woke up this fine day to see a light dusting of snow, kind of a surprise for Oregon in March. If you look at the first picture you can see my freshly planted rose bushes amidst the snow dusting. I hope they'll do ok. The stores around here only sell roses in the last week of Febuary and in March, so you have to buy the plants when they are available and get them into good soil asap so they can grow beautiful roses their first year. Otherwise you have to pamper them, wait, and hope that they do better their second year.

I love roses, and when I first moved here I dug up a couple of bushes I had planted at my apartment. I brought 4 all together and sadly the first year 2 didn't make it. I had a purple rose that bloomed a few times last year and the other rose bush never made buds. So I know for a fact that I had 2 reds, a yellow and purple rosebush. I know that the purple one survived, but I have no idea what color the other bush was. I plan on getting some good quality rose food this first week of April and fertilizing the two older plants.

The 4 new roses I planted, I put in soil that was already fertilized. See the soil around here is almost completly clay. weee! So if you want anything to grow you must first dig a huge hole and throw away all the clay. Then you fill the hole about 3/4 full of good quality potting soil. Making sure to pat the soil up the sides of the hole. Then you can finally put the new plant in the hole, fill in with the rest of the soil, add the barkdust so it blends with the rest of the yard, and water. And hope you did enough...lol.

This year, I've bought 2 reds and I think two yellows, or at least one yellow and maybe a white. It doesn't really matter the color, I just love gardening and roses and flowers are so beautiful.

Sigh, too much kitten anxiety...I can't seem to remeber anything but the kittens to come. So I'm going to head off for now, I'll update as soon as those little darlings make their debut into the world.

What?? Nothing going on here!

Author: Belle

Nope, its Monday and still no bebbehs. I am getting mighty tired of all the running around they is doing in my tummy, but from what I understand about kittens they have to hatch at their own speed. In that picture, you might think there is kittens, but no, thats just the paws and big belly of my brother, Hunter. Totally fooled you for a second though! lol

Momma really had hoped for the kittens on easter, but since I got out 3 different times there's no real way to count the days since I met my special tom. I am getting very round and yes, my hips are sticking out and I waddle a little bit. My milk glands are getting more swollen everyday and the kittens are very very active inside my tumtum. But they aren't listening to Momma who keeps telling them to come on out and play!
The other interesting thing is that my kitty momma was a part siamese but I am a tuxie girl. The toms that are in the neighborhood are a siamese (full), a siamese mix, a grey and white one, a black manx, and a tiger striped tom. Those are just the ones that we have for sure seen in our front yard. So what kind of kittens I hatch out are going to be a big surprise! Momma has her fingers crossed on a siamese mix, but I personally think I shall only have tuxies or black panther kittehs. hehe Momma thinks I shall have 2-3 kittens, but I plan on surprising her with at least 4. Everything that momma is thinking I is gonna try and mess up, cause well...a girl has to has some mystery and surprises in her life! lol

Normally I am an easy going kind of person who deeply cares for my friends, my pets, and my family. I try to not let too many things bother me or offend me and I try to respect many different people and their many different views. However, I have been going to Wozog and doing their Cat idol and now Cat Apprentice contest and inbetween rounds of the contest the owner of the site put up a post that I feel was offensive and demeaning to overweight women. Women and men that are art models have alot of guts to pose for immature college jerks in addition to actual real artists. Showing their entire body to further the development of art. Its a serious and wonderful practice. However, this particular story that was put on Wozog may or may not be real, I still find it incredibly offensive. I asked the Wozog editor to remove it, he declined and told me I was taking it too seriously and it was "just a story".
I am asking my pets be removed from all future contests on that site and I don't plan on visiting it again.
Here is a link to the post that has the story on it.Wozog

Read it for yourself, let me know if you think I'm overreacting or if its time to stand up for respect and maturity for all people?
I ask you not to write horrible comments or do anything immature, rather if you agree with me about this story, please comment on the wozog blog and let the editor know that degrading people for fun isn't acceptable and definitly isn't the way to build a good blog readerlist.

Thanks for reading my rant, back to the kittys on Monday, unless the kittens come before then. I'll include pictures as soon as they arrive.

Napoleon loves the snow, but only if he's safe inside!!

One of these kittehs is pregnant

(click to biggify)

Author:Napoleon
In that picture, my brofur and my sista is cuddling. Of course, those of yous who read here regularly know which is which. However, those who don't knows us berry well will has to wonder wich of those is prego! My brofur Hunter is all being like "wwaaa, I is not fat, I is not prego, I is a studdly mancat" but when randoms beans and kittehs is asked...they fink the all black kitty is the one that is gonna has kittens! hehehehe

Oh and for the records I was not sulking in my kitty penthouse. I was meerly resting up for the next contest on Wozog. The contest is now called Cat apprentice. The goal is to NOT have very many votes. So I is asking you all to go to wozog and vote for the lamest kitteh there and vote them off so I can be the cat pretince.
Fanks!!

PS, we is taking guessings on when Belle will hatch her alien offspring. There be no prize money or fabo stuff cause Momma has spented alot of money preparing for the aliens...however, Momma will dedicate a special post to whomever wins. You has to leave a date and time you think the kitten hatching will occur ( incase of a two people saying the same day, the tie will be settled by the time) You must guess before the date the aliens arrive, which could be any day or 2 squillion weeks from now so get your guess in!!!!

Kitty Condo? I don't think so!

Author: Hunter

You nose when Momma said I could has mondays to blog. I thoughts, well maybee sometimes I wood and soemtimes I woodn'ts be bloggin. And frankly I has gotten laziers, so it hasn't bothered me too much. But its been a squillion years since I hads my last blog post!!

Anyways, In thats foto you can see that it is NOT a kitteh condo! It only has a penthouse and the second floor has no walls! And of course the floor on this so called semi-luxery condo isn't nearly wide enough for my needs. I can'ts exactly fit in the penthouse and well I'm not too keen on fightings Napoleon for it neither. He's still sulkin causn he losted the wozog contest. Says he wont come out till he is declared purtyiest kitteh in the world or somefing likes that.

Oh, Momma wanted me to lets you all know about Belle. Its kinda funny I guess, but since Greatgrandma isn't to good wif her eyes and can't tells the difference between an all black kitty (like me) and a black kitty wif white paws and markings (like Belle) Great keeps finking I is the one who is prego! oh k, wait..thats not funny! She finks I is fat! I is a musclularly studmuffin and is not fats in any way. The scale lies I do not weigh 11 pounds!!
So back to Belle who is definelty prego. Momma is finking based on the size of Belle and the recent definete confirmed movements of the alien hatchlings (hehe)that miss mommy to be is probablys gonna has them on Easter which is exactlys 6 days from now. Of coursen as each day comes and goes, Momma is gonna be feeling and petting up Belle's tumtum and checking to make sure she is doing ok. Ever since Momma first suspected that the stumpet, I mean Belle, got it on wif the local tomcat she has been putting out extra foods.

Now we all eat from the same bowl, so of course I has been helping myself to the extra available yum yums. And as soon as Momma thoughts that Belle was prego she switched from our normal kitty food to a mix with kitten chow and adult formula. As the weeks has gone by, Momma has gradually phased in more kitten foods and included some scrumpshish wet food. Its a premuim wet food, wif real actuall fishy in it! Mackeral, tuna, salmon ect...oh yes, I hope that it never stops!! Course, Momma says as soon as Belle is ready for the hatchlings she will be moved into a special room and her special food will goes wif her! Sighs. I thinks though that for my super sensitive (hehe, wink wink) tummy I should have a gradual phase out of the yummy kitten chow and the scrumpshish wet delightfuls food. Or I may has to announce wif much hurling and hacking up of the normal nutrious but not nearly so delious kitty food, untils I gets my way ;)

Blanket Update

Author: Momma

Well, as you can see I've finally got back to working on the blanket and its proceeding at a somewhat good pace. I'm still hoping to finish it by working 1-2 hours a day for the next week. Fingers crossed and it should be done by next sunday. I've made a really big blanket years ago, and it took about 8 hours a day for 4-5 days a week and was done in about 2 months. This one will be much smaller. I just want it big enough to tuck around your feet and about up to your waist in a sitting position.

About Belle and the bumps... I think I've seen the bumps move, but its not a steady movement so its hard to tell for sure. Mostly there is something like a twitch or a rapid wave across her belly. I've been a foster mom to a few pregnant cats before and even hand reared a litter after their mum died. So, I'm somewhat knowledgable...however, its always harder when you don't know the conceptition date because you just have to guesstimate when she should be moved to an isolated area. I'm hoping she won't decide to have them during the middle of the night or under one of the beds.
My first experience with a litter (as an adult) was with my oldest cat, Empress Tao. She was under the bed and let out this unholy YEOWL. I called to her and she jumped up on the bed. Then she climbed in my lap and began to move her back legs back and forth and then....there was a big disgusting bubble at her back end! EWW the miracle of life is disgusting! lol. I got her into the bathroom, got a towel and let her get comfy. She ended up nesting the towel inbetween my legs and using my thighs as a pushing platform. It was a very intense and emotional experience for me. She had three adorable babies that grew into wonderful loving companions for their forever homes.
I'm looking forward to this new miracle, but at the same time I'm apprehinsive because I'll have to keep myself from getting attached to any of the bumps. I have enough kittys as it is! lol. And as soon as Belle is done nursing them, its off to the vet for a little ladygardenectomy!!!!

I is getting rounder

author:Belle

Well its been a while since I,the great and beautiful Belle, has gotten a chance to blog! My brother has been soooo obsessed about the wozog cat idol contest! So I haven't had a chance to spill the beans to all the beans. (hehe) After many escapes aided by my sometimes clueless bean greatgrandma and once even by Momma, well I met a few random toms...and you can fill in the rest.

Mine tummy is getting rounder, the "pinking up" has occured, yup, I is gonna be hatching some kittens soon. So far Momma hasn't ever seen the kittens move, and well since I was let out on 3 different occasions there is no way to say for sure when I am due.

Momma is planning on preparing the MasterBath and putting food, bedding, litterbox and toys in there and confining me so I have the kittens in a good safe and easily cleaned area. She thinks that when my milk drops down, then she will have a day or two warning and will be able to convince me to waddle into that room voluntarily. HA! I plan on having my babies where I want! Perhaps in some hard to reach area of the house on the brand new carpet in the middle of the night. Yup. Thats my plan.
hehehe

I need a snuggles!

Author: Napoleon

Oh the shame, oh the sadness, oh the humiliation!! I, the most beautifulest of all meezers in the whole wide worldth has lost! I was not in last place most of yesterday and then booms! I getted lost at the last minute. My sister, Raowr, is cuddling up wif me...but Hunter is sayings I be a big baby now.

I say "NO! is not fair, no no no! I is the cutest! I should has won!!" that is totally not being a baby, that is being a spoiled rotten meezer mancat. ;) And really...I lost to some kittehs who are not nearly as cute as me! I just wasn't getting enough people to go to the site and vote. I don't know who momma is gonna vote for now on there, cause we don't know any of thems and we don't thinks they is nearly as cute as ME!!!!!
SIGHS! Oh k, I guessing its back to being a proud step-father to my darling Isis's new litter of ittle bittle kittehs. Just cause I isn't a predigree, and lost my dangly bits doesn't mean I can't be a father...I just has to be a step-father is all. So I gots 3 good looking boy babys and a darling little girl baybee. And their Momma is doing great! She's so purty! She totally would have won if she hadn't been sooo ummm round and preoccupied wif the little'ns ...well, and she didn't enter that contest...so I'm guessing thats why she didn't wins neither.
I is gonna do some serious posing and get Momma to reenter me in the next times they has a contest. I'm a guessing since no one could see's my beautifuls blue eyes...they couldn't vote. I can't help it, when Momma rubbs my ears and my face I just close my eyes and go ppppuuuuuurrrrssss.

Sunday Blanket Update

Author: Momma

Well another week has gone by and the blanket is getting bigger. I'll show you a picture from 2 weeks ago. You can see the blanket is finally large enough for Napoleon to really spread out. Soon you won't be able to see the rug underneath! lol
I'm estimated/guestimating that the blanket should be done in 1-2 more weeks. I could have finished in only 2 weeks if I was just making it for a kitty, but for a human...it needs to be a bit bigger.

Here's the update from www.wozog.com
Napoleon has made it past the first round of voting, thank you all who voted!!! Don't forget to keep coming back to that site everyday!! Napoleon is very vain and you mights hurt his feelings!

Some information about Wozog.com 's Cat Idol Contest:

How does Cat Idol work?

There will be lets say 24 cat pictures up. But you can only vote for one. After 24 hours the cat with the least amount of fan votes will be eliminated. So then there will be 23 cats. The voting starts ALL over again. Previous votes do no go over to the next round. As long as your cat does not get the least amount of votes, he or she is safe. This will go on until only one cat is left standing

This means everyday you must must must go and vote for my baby Napoleon...or else I will have to suffer! Please save the MOMMA!!!!

Scritches is great!!

Author: Napoleon
Meezer Rule:
If you is gonna do something naughty, remember to look adorable. Beans can't resist a meezer face full of cuteness.

Momma has forgivens me and my brethern for the destruction of the bowls and now she is back to giving us good pets and scritches. I knew my plan would work, it just took longer then planned.
See I wanted to see what was up on the fridge, but there was stuff up there in my way. So I carefully waited till there was a time when no one would stop me...ie...the beans were gone. Then I climbed up there, but firsted I had to drop everything that was in my way...so the bowls and stuff came of the fridge magically. And of course, the magic didn't work right...so the bowls all felled down on the ground. OOOPSS. Anyway, at least they was out of my way and I was able to FINALLY get up on the fridge. Turns out, once you get rid of the bowls and stuff up there...its not that interesting. But anyway, that all happened last week, and the plan was that Momma was suppose to forgive me instantly cause I is super duper cute! Well, thats the part of the plan that didn't work so well. Oh she feds us and stuff, but she wasn't all lovey dovery wif me. SIGHS!! I had to work overtime that night and really put the cuteness out there. Inluding my patented Meezer Meowl, and the all night purr fest. I won her over...I tolds her resistence is futile. I shall always win!! I is the cutest!!!

Blanket is getting bigger

Author: Momma

I almost forgot to put the updated photo of my blanket on for today! Been busy, so not much time to chat. However, its progressing so quickly I think I might run out yarn! I'm out of cash at the moment, so if I run out of yarn I'll have to post a picture of it and let you all know when I get another chance to start working on it again.
As you can tell, everytime I lay the blanket down to take a photo of it...one of the cats attempt to claim it! This time Belle is making her statement of interest! On a side note, I do belive she is pregnant since her belly is starting to get firmer. I think she is probably 20-30 days into it. No way to know for sure until we get about 10-15 more days into it, then I'll be able to pinpoint a delivery date. I really wish that Greatgrandma hadn't let her out of the house, since Belle did have an appointment for a spay 2 weeks ago. But since she is pregnant, now I'll have to wait till after the babies are born and weaned before I can get her spayed. I will keep you all up to date on that as well. Have to run. Thanks for stopping in!!

I am not FAT!!

Author: Belle

I don't know why everyone is obsessed with my tum-tum. Momma says she doesn't think its as squishy and it might be getting big. Ummm, no...I'm not fat or squishy...I'm just ummm, well rounded.

Oh, for everyone who asked...no, those bowls that got broke weren't precious. They weren't too expensive, but Momma was still very very upset! She found out that the big big big plastic bowl that fell, is also cracked and broken. She sighed, but she didn't say anything to us. We is worried, that might mean she is gonna think really hard before she tells us exactly how naughty we are. Or it could mean she finally learned that it doesn't matter how many times you tell us "no" and "bad kitteh!" because we are just gonna do whatever we want anyway.

And btw, I totally had nothing to do with the bowls. It was all Napoleon. But he thinks since there were no witnesses, he can spread the blame to all four of us.
